IT Systems Engineer Level III

Extensive knowledge of various software and hardware is required. We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic individual that works well in a team environment. You must have excellent client facing skills and have the skills necessary to build, grow and maintain client relationships. We are a local Managed Service Provider (MSP) with over 40 years in business and clients that have been with us over 20 years. Client relations are extremely important to us. After hours on call one to two weeks per month required. Overnight travel with a minimum of 3 contiguous days a month is possible. This is NOT a remote position.

The IT Systems Engineer III will be:

Serving as an escalation point for any/all helpdesk support tickets that are escalated from our Level I and Level II engineers or assigned by our dispatcher.

Implementing new systems and network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current implementations

Serving as an integral member of Project Delivery by providing hands-on technical support for complex projects, focusing on production and implementation

Install, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, switches and firewalls

Support VMware virtual servers

Support Windows Server 2012-2022, including issues with Active Directory, domain operations, etc.

Provide infrastructure support in all areas needed including storage, networking, server/desktop OS, Cloud environments, network security, active directory, virtualization, system and network monitoring, and application installation, configuration and troubleshooting

Mentor/Coach to junior engineers

An active leader of the technical support team

Responsible for creating detailed documentation outlining how systems were configured and creating end-user guides

Responsible for maintaining detailed time tracking of your work

Qualifications:

Microsoft 365: 5+ years (Required)

Network/Switching/Routing/Firewall: 5+ years (Required)

Microsoft Windows Server management/configuration/troubleshooting: 5+ years (Required)

Working at a Managed Service Provider (MSP): 5+ years (Required)

Core Skills and Experience:

Minimum 10 Years IT experience

O365 Administration

Windows Server Administration 2012-2022

GPO management

Network administration/management

Virtualization

Experience with Veeam

BDR Experience

5+ years prior MSP experience

5+ years of Windows Server troubleshooting and deployment experience including Domain creation, DHCP/DNS, DFS replication

5+ years of firewall/network layer support and deployment experience including VLAN and switch configuration and troubleshooting

5+ years of hands-on networking experience (routing and switching)

Knowledge of PowerShell and scripting

VMware ESXi 6.X host build out and troubleshooting experience

Able to perform onsite site assessments, monthly Managed Service site visits, technical assessments, account management and implementation of tools such as RMM, Cybersecurity stack, Backup/Disaster Recovery, GPO, iLO, VMware/Hyper-V, etc.

Experience with MAC devices such as Macbooks/iPads is a huge plus

Able to solve complex problems, helpdesk issues at the highest level and be the escalation point for Jr. Engineers

Ability to handle server/network level projects and serve as the primary POC

Provide infrastructure support in all areas needed including storage networking, server/desktop OS, Cloud environments, network security, active directory, virtualization, system and network monitoring, and application installation, configuration and troubleshooting
