Parts Runner/Shop Assistant
About the Role:
We are seeking individuals who are 18 years of age and older, with a clean DMV record and no drug use history, who are interested in a career in welding and metal fabrication. This role is perfect for those who are keen on learning and operating fabrication equipment, can diligently follow instructions, and are committed to high-quality results. With no experience required, we are ready to train the right person who is eager to learn and grow in this field.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling and Delivery: Act as the primary driver for picking up materials and parts from suppliers, preparing parts for shipment, and undertaking various other duties as assigned.
Training and Operation: Learn to understand and operate fabrication equipment while assisting with tool and equipment setup.
Safety and Maintenance: Adhere to safety guidelines, handle parts carefully, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Quality and Precision: Use measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met and make minor adjustments to equipment as necessary for production goals.
Team Collaboration: Assist other shop areas and positions as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Valid Alaska driver's license with clean driving record. Must be insurable.
Clean criminal background with no felonies, drug use, or alcohol abuse. Ability to pass random Federal drug screenings (this includes Marijuana) and a background check due to FAA regulations.
Ability to lift 50 - 70 lbs. regularly.
Basic proficiency in English.
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new programs (familiarity with drawing software for CNC laser cutting, lathe operation programs, and basic photo editing is a plus).
Reliable, with willingness to show up on time and work all day.
