Responsible for negotiating payer or specialty contracts for assigned payers or employers organizations with net medical spend of $150,000,000 or less. Serves as a key member of the CPR team with a primary focus on developing, nurturing and advancing relationships. Drafts written contract language for contracts. Responsible for coordinating with other Mayo internal administrative areas to ensure efficient implementation and ongoing maintenance of assigned contracts. Oversees interactions with external payers and employers for resolution of issues. In addition, has direct responsibility for development and execution of strategic initiatives that advance market and practice yield as approved by CPR leadership. Maintains relationship with external payers and employers; corresponds routinely, and explores opportunities to enhance the relationships. Establishes and maintains relationships with the practice and administrative leadership. Participates in developing overall department market and contract strategy for payers or employers. Participates and provides input in the development of enterprise level, regional level, and site specific strategies to maintain and grow market share, yield, and access to Mayo services. Educates Mayo leadership regarding contracts and the payer/employer market. Institutional resource on health care payer market issues.This position is primarily remote work. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps.QualificationsMaster's degree in business, healthcare or other related field required and ten (10) years of finance management experience with a progressive organization. In lieu of a Master’s degree, a Bachelor's degree in business, finance or a related field plus twelve (12) years of finance management experience with progressive responsibilities.Proficiency in a different language, preferably Arabic is preferred.Must have legal contract structure, content and health insurance marketplace experience. Requires a broad experience and proven knowledge of corporate benefit options, insurance industry standards, payer payment methodologies, managed care concepts, health care finance fundamentals, medical terminology, third party billing, payment and collection principles. Must have superior skills in leadership, relationship management, verbal and written communications, organization, decision making and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple disciplines internal and external to the organization. Need strong skills in managing multiple tasks concurrently. Positive attitude and strong persuasive skills needed. Direct reports will include other department personnel. Prefer experience with implementing major organizational change, including significant contract or operational redesign and other operational efficiency improvements as payer dynamics have changed. Promotes teamwork and seeks to maximize the potential of all employees. Needs or requires little direction. Is fully capable of independent thought and direction. Able to work, function, and succeed in a consensus driven, collaborative culture and work environment. Must be an individual of high energy, positive attitude, and a proven track record of getting results. Experience with or sensitivity to the uniqueness of a combined research, education and patient care setting desirable. Travel is required.This position will accept applications until 10/01/2024.
