Description Our client is seeking a Sales and Use Tax Analyst/Accountant to join their team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role involves strong attentional to detail, ability to handle multple deadlines and a variety of calculations and tax law research for our corporate client. This role also includes responsibility for SALT tax apportionment data collection and calculations, as well as general accounting duties and communicating with third party agencies in multiple statesResponsibilities: Conduct research and analysis to ensure company’s compliance with ongoing tax law changes and identify opportunities for tax savings. Respond to notices and inquiries from governmental tax authorities. Take charge of monthly, quarterly, and annual miscellaneous non-income tax filings and calculations. Prepare federal and multi-state income/franchise tax returns (corporation and partnership) and related calculations and schedules, including estimated payments and extensions. Handle general accounting duties including account reconciliations and journal entries. Document tax processes and pinpoint process improvements. Contribute to other corporate tax projects and processes as needed. Responsible for state income tax apportionment data collection and calculations.Our client offers a great base and very strong benefits in a role with excellent job stability. Demonstrated skills in using SAP for various financial tasks is mandatory. Hands-on experience in preparing Sales and Use Tax Returns. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.
