Blue Note Napa is the premier music venue and restaurant. Blue Note Napa also operates

Summer Sessions and Oxbow RiverStage, outdoor summer concert series, Black Radio

Experience a yearly 3 day music festival, and the JaM Cellars Ballroom, a music and event

venue upstairs from Blue Note Napa.

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all of the operations of the business

including, but not limited to the following areas.

Staffing: Hire, onboard, train, discipline and manage all FOH and BOH staff, including servers,

bartenders, host team, bussers and runners, floor managers, house managers, ushers. Set

standards of performance for all team members.

Scheduling: Create weekly staff schedules for all FOH and BOH team members, for all venues.

Analyze event calendar and ticket sales to create appropriate staffing levels on a daily basis.

Approve/deny time off requests.

Payroll: Audit and correct timesheets, submit payroll to accounting and coordinate payday

distribution of paychecks.

Venue management: Coordinate building and equipment maintenance from vendors, including

elevator repair, dishwashing equipment, fire alarm, plumbers, pest control, etc.

Private Events: Respond to event inquiries, provide quotes and create contracts for room rental,

private events, and F&B in consultation with the culinary team. Manage private events on site

or delegate when appropriate.

Banking: Oversee banking deposits, petty cash disbursements and reconciliations.

Software Platform Management: Oversee the daily operations and use of our scheduling/HR

application HomeBase, POS systems (Union, SquareUp, At Venu), and inventory system,

Craftable. Utilize Instawork when required for outdoor venue staffing.

Inventory: Ensure venues have appropriate inventory of beverage products from suppliers

including Bi-Rite, Golden Brands, RNDC, Southern Glazer, Morris, Ital Foods, etc, as well as

linens from Alsco.

Compliance: Implement and manage all company programs to ensure compliance with the

SOPs; to include safety and sanitary regulation, all federal, state and local regulations to ensure

optimal levels of quality service and hospitality are provided to the guest.

The GM position requires a significant commitment of time. The standard schedule is Tuesday

through Saturday, with some Sundays required. During the busy season, some weeks may

include a Monday as well.

The General Manager position is a hands-on role, helping out FOH and BOH teams during

service/concerts to seat guests, run food and drinks, set up water stations, etc.

Required Qualifications

● Performing Arts Venue and Facilities management experience preferred

● Working knowledge of all management aspects in the restaurant

● Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and investigative skills to gather information needed

to clarify inquiries and requests. Professional skills to handle sensitive and difficult

situations with diplomacy.

● Excellent communication skills to successfully interact with a diverse constituency.

● Experience successfully exercising independent judgment in solving and constructively

troubleshooting problems.

● Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.

● Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills to effectively recruit, select, train,

motivate, and evaluate personnel.

● Strong customer service skills and techniques to successfully build and maintain positive

customer relations and provide quality service.

● Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.

● High degree of organizational and time management skills with the ability to

independently follow through to successful completion of projects within a deadline.

● Ability to multi-task appropriately among tasks and competing deadlines. Handle

frequent interruptions, while maintaining a high level of productivity.

● Accuracy and careful attention to detail are required.

● Demonstrated record of punctuality and attendance required.

● Excellent computer skills and familiarity with MS Office and Google suite of software.

● Ability to easily learn new software programs as required.

● Ability to work,unconventional hours, and/or during nights and weekends, as needed.

● Ability to successfully pass background investigation required.

● The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.

● Must be able to sit, squat, stand, stand for extended periods, walk on uneven surfaces,

and climb stairs.

Preferred Qualifications

● Experience supporting large popular music touring concerts.

● Working knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and

plumbing.

● Appreciation for the performing arts and experience, appreciation, or familiarity with

creative individuals, artists, and art forms.

Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000 DOE
