Incumbents in this series plan, organize and administer a comprehensive personnel services program including employee relations, selection, classification coordination, position control, evaluation, training, payroll and other related areas. Personnel Officers supervise the work of other personnel staff. The Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) is currently recruiting for a Personnel Officer 2 for the Human Resources Department. The position will be filled in Las Vegas, Reno, or Carson City depending on the chosen candidate. This recruitment may be used to fill current or future vacancies as they occur. This position's primary function will include Employee Development and Training for division employees statewide. This is a new position and will operate under the direction of the Personnel Officer 3. The incumbent will be responsible for designing, facilitating, and planning technical training programs and academy for employee groups which align with the needs of the agency while maintaining legal mandates, ADSD policies and procedures, NAC, and NRS compliance; provide instructional assistance and services to employees from various occupational groups; create learning strategies, evaluate needs, and deliver training sessions to include continuous professional development of agency staff; and prepare and create professional development courses, soft skills training, compliance tracking, and special projects to contribute to employee satisfaction, retention, and engagement. The incumbent will directly supervise, train, and evaluate lower-level staff. Travel will be required Statewide.
