Chief Perfusionist
Job Summary: The perfusionist is knowledgeable concerning the variety of equipment available to perform extracorporeal circulation functions and is responsible in consultation with the physician, for selecting the appropriate equipment and techniques to be used. The Chief Perfusionist is administratively responsible for purchasing supplies and equipment, assuring periodic maintenance of the same, as well as for appropriate personnel and departmental management. Management duties may include the development and implementation of policies and procedures, quality assurance measures, and staff development. Education and research are a fundamental part of a perfusionist's scope of practice.Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree and New York State license/license eligible, with a minimum of five years of on-the-job related experience of which two years should be a supervisory/administrative capacity required. American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Certified Clinical Perfusionist required.
