Support primarily outpatient services with some inpatient responsibilities.
Ideal candidates will have experience in acute pain management and knowledge of pain transmission, pain in various subspecialties (including trauma), and pharmacology of pain management agents.
New graduates will be considered and mentored by a senior AIPPS board-certified anesthesiologist.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients in the perioperative setting.
Assist AIPPS Physicians during procedures and provide post-operative pain assessments.
Contribute to UPMC’s mission of Life Changing Medicine.
Set and maintain standards for patient care.
Collaborate with physicians, healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements:
Successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, if applicable.
Placement based on years and months of experience.
Purpose: The Staff Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is responsible for setting the standards for care quality and managing patient care activities through independent judgment and collaboration with the care team.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CRNP:
Successful completion of an approved nurse practitioner program.
Preferred professional nursing experience and/or nurse practitioner experience.
Current state RN license and CRNP certification.
National certification, eligible for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing, and certification as a CRNP by Pennsylvania state board of nursing.
Current BLS or ACLS certification.
Act 33/73 and Act 34 Clearances required.
PA:
Graduate of a physician assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the physician assistant (ARC-PA).
Preferred experience as a physician assistant and/or in a clinical setting.
Current state PA license certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Current BLS or ACLS certification.
Act 33/73 and Act 34 Clearances required.
