Assistant Baker

Whisk & Bowl is an artisanal pastry shop at DFW Airport!

We're looking for an Assistant Baker to help with our bakery production. Training for our specific recipes will be provided, however we're seeking individuals with 1-2 years of baking experience.

Assistant Baker

Reports to: General Manager/Head Baker

Classification: Non-exempt

Position Summary: The Assistant Baker is responsible for supporting the Head Baker and General Manager with all aspects of operation of the bakery. In addition, working closely with each team member, oversee, instruct and coach to achieve individual, bakery and corporate goals. He/she must provide the direction and coaching necessary to achieve production goals in a manner that will ensure the appropriate use of products and company resources. He/she is responsible for communicating factors influencing bakery production and success and works with the General Manager to develop strategic and tactical plans to increase and sustains bakery revenue targets.

This is a full-time hourly position, which requires approximately 35-40 hours per week with occasional need to work additional hours as the business demands.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Assistant Baker is responsible for the following during his/her shift –

Reporting to the Head Baker, the Assistant baker ensures that our vision, mission and values are understood, embraced and modeled by all team members.

Support the bakery by meeting all production guidelines.

Makes sure all SOP's and Recipes are followed and all safety guidelines are met.

Stock, Clean, and assist with inventory measures as needed.

Produce finished pastries as well as ingredients, fillings, toppings etc.

Assist front of house operations with point of sale, stocking and cleaning as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

1+ years of Bakery experience - should have basic bakery knowledge and understand methodology

Knowledge of business drivers within Bakery Industry

Knowledge about supporting operating costs and budgets
