CNA I/Secretary
Position Summary: Performs all clerical and secretarial duties related to unit under supervision of Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. Coordinates activities at nursing station. Communicates with physicians and nurses and relays pertinent information in timely manner. Is responsible for scheduling x-rays, lab tests, surgeries, etc. as ordered by physicians. Process information on the Center#s health Information System as required in performing and/or carrying out job responsibilities. As a CNA; a#professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, providing care through the continues utilization of the nursing process in collaboration with the other health care team members. Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care activities to all patients. Assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the unit. The ICU CNA/Secretary may be utilized to monitor telemetry within the hospital system. Preference will be given to those with a background in EKG/Telemetry interpretation.# Qualifications: Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to work under the direction of a licensed nurse; and follow written or verbal instructions effectively. Demonstrates good writing or verbal communication skills. Follows directions without difficulty. Must have certification by state certified nursing assistant program as a Nurse Aide I and must have a current registration with the North Carolina Certified Nursing Assistant Registry. Participates in educational conferences, completes education in services, and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to areas of practice. Maintains a BLS certification.# Basic telemetry interpretation classes offered internally.
