Gardener/Horticulturist

The mission of the National Tropical Botanical Garden is to enrich life by perpetuating tropical plants, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

We are now accepting applications for two (2) full-time Gardeners based at our world class Gardens in the Lawai Valley.

Requires the skills and/or ability to learn the skills practices, and procedures of landscape management and maintenance. Ideal candidates will have experience in landscape maintenance and or invasive species control. Must be able and willing to safely operate small engine equipment (string trimmer, chainsaw), use herbicides and work in uneven terrain. Qualified applicant will have a strong desire to care for plants and plant collections in a world class botanical garden setting, the desire to learn new horticultural skills and have good teamwork skills. This position entails frequent exposure to the elements, noise, and chemicals. Requires frequent standing, walking and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Must have a valid Driver’s license.

Schedule: Monday-Friday Days with some exceptions

Pay Range: $18.30-$22.00/ hr. DOE
