Handyman Needed for Multiple Properties in Long Island, New York
A reputable Property Management/Real estate company is seeking a reliable and experienced handyman to service multiple properties across Long Island. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our properties in excellent condition by handling routine maintenance tasks, addressing tenant concerns, and collaborating with our team to ensure the overall upkeep of each property. Primary Responsibilities
Routine Inspections & Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of common areas, mechanical rooms, and building exteriors. Perform minor repairs (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and coordinate larger projects with management and other team members.
Tenant Assistance: Respond promptly to tenant maintenance requests reported by management, ensuring a high standard of service and satisfaction.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance staff, porters, and property management to ensure smooth operations and address issues effectively as a team.
Property Appearance: Ensure the properties maintain an appealing appearance. While most cleaning is handled by porters, the handyman will ensure that the exterior and common areas remain tidy.
Safety & System Oversight: Identify and address potential safety concerns and ensure building systems such as intercoms, security, and more are in good working order.
Emergency Response & Flexibility: Be available for after-hours emergencies, such as leaks or power outages. If you cannot respond to emergencies, this role may not be a good fit.
Communication & Reporting: Keep the property management team informed about ongoing maintenance tasks and promptly respond to any requests.
Qualifications
Proven experience in property maintenance, handyman services, or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
Ability to troubleshoot and solve issues independently and work collaboratively in a team setting.
Professional and clear communication skills for interacting with tenants, team members, and management.
Physical capability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in various conditions.
FLEXIBLE AVAILABILITY to handle emergency maintenance during off-hours.
