Winona's Seeking Somm/Server

This is a position that requires a demonstrable knowledge of natural wine. If you do not have this then please do not apply for this position.

Winona’s, is family run restaurant on the border of South Williamsburg and Bed Stuy.

We are currently looking for a Somm/Server to join our ever expanding team.

Part time positions available.

3-4 shifts per week. Schedule will be a mix of brunch and dinner shifts. You will be expected to do some somm shifts and some serving shifts

Weekend availability is a MUST.

A very solid working knowledge of Natural Wine and a good understanding of wine service, is a prerequisite. If this does not apply to you, then unfortunately this position is not the right fit.

Formal somm training is not required but is a bonus.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic and outgoing person, with excellent customer service skills and a passion for food, wine and hospitality.

SERVER

Knowledge and understanding of natural wine is a prerequisite

2 year of experience as a server in NY or other metropolitan city

Comfortable with steps of service

Excel at prioritizing dining costumers and floor maintenance

Into food, fresh ingredients and wine

Able to establish a conversation and engage with customers

Hands on and hard worker

Able to stand for long periods of time, and carry 40lbs

Adaptable

Team player

Follows recipes and commands

Schedule flexibility (Must be available to work weekends and on holidays. Must be available to work evening and weekend brunch shifts)

DOH certificate a plus
