This program has seen an increase in student participation, and we are looking for a passionate theater supporter to add to our programming.Summary: The Assistant Drama Director will support the Drama Director in all aspects of producing and directing middle school theatrical productions. Responsibilities include assisting with rehearsals, managing stage setups, coordinating with cast and crew, and helping with administrative tasks related to the productions. The role requires a passion for theater, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with students and staff.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

Conducts an equitable selection of the drama production cast.

Assists with auditions, rehearsals, and performances.

Supervises students during practices and productions.

Provides guidance to students in acting, stagecraft, and technical aspects of theater.

Assists with set design, costumes, and props.

Creates a sense of belonging and a welcoming environment for all students.

Assists students, promoting teamwork, and fostering a creative environment.

Have knowledge in and follow the guidelines, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of Ames Community School District.

Ensure that the student members understand the expectations of the organization, represent excellence within the school, and serve as role models for the student body.

Ensure that a channel of continuous communication exists between the student body and the faculty and administration.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient functioning of the club.

Qualifications:

Experience working with middle school students preferred.
