Dispatcher

RPM Hawaiian/Royal Hawaiian Express is an established leader in the Transportation, industry. We have provided customers with quality service for over 34 years and continue to do so. We are seeking a Dispatcher to join our team in our Pearl City terminal.

The Dispatcher’s primary purpose is to dispatch LTL shipments on the island of Oahu and coordinate inter-island LTL shipments to and from Oahu. The Dispatcher will ensure efficient pick up and delivery of freight to meet our customer’s demands. They will also

work to ensure there is efficient utilization of drivers and equipment while promoting a positive and safe work environment.

Fast Paced; deadline oriented

Hours may vary due to operational needs

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan LTL loads accordingly – best straight route;

Maximize loads for the bobtails and flatbed trucks;

Communicate well with internal and external customers;

Monitor drivers, before (pre-trip) during and after completion of routes – drivers manifest;

Lead by example – be positive, safety awareness and professional;

Be able to trouble shoot – OS & D issues. Follow procedures regarding return products, pallets, eastbound and etc.;

Document issues with deliveries to discuss with management.

Be able to administer proper investigation techniques on vehicle accidents;

Complete all forms on a timely manner;

Answer phones, help in the office and perform customer care functions as needed;

Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

Process the documentation that accompanies the movement of freight

Experience:

A minimum of one year recent experience as an LTL Dispatcher;

High School Diploma or GED;

Experience dispatching LTL and full container loads;

Experience dispatching drivers to and from the port;

Computer literate using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
