Review the position below and apply today.We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.Job SummaryDominion’s Electric Transmission Operations Engineering Support department is seeking a motivated individual to support the Company’s evolving transmission grid. Interns will assist experienced engineers responsible for supporting asset management initiatives to design, specify, operate, maintain, upgrade and support field installation of large substation equipment such as Power Transformers, Breakers, GIS, FACTS Devices, Instrument Transforms, etc. Specific assignments may include the following: Develop an understanding of company procurement processes, procedures, and equipment inventory Work with subject matter expert (SME) in support of operational needs and project initiatives Work with SME in support of emerging issues with the field organizations related to assigned substation equipment Assist in root cause analysis of suspect/failed components Perform studies using RTDS/PSCAD/PSSE and other simulations tools Perform equipment data analytics Perform other duties as requested or assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience Understanding of AC/DC and three-phase power systems Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics Power electronics knowledge is preferred RTDS/PSCAD/PSSE software knowledge is preferred Equally effective working independently or in a team environment Strong oral and written communication skills Time management skills with the ability to independently plan and organize work assignments Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and practicesEducation RequirementsMasters or PhD in Engineering - Electrical, Mechanical and Power Engineering majors are preferredWorking ConditionsOffice Work Environment 76 -100%Export ControlCertain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
