The Academic Success Specialist is responsible to the Assistant Dean to manage the OASIS Program and the Peer Mentoring Program within the Center for Academic Success, including scheduling study sessions, training coaches, scheduling classes, and monitoring student success. The Academic Success Specialist teaches GEN 111(College Success Strategies I) and GEN 112 (College Success Strategies II). The Specialist aids the Director of Academic success in recruiting and retaining SAGE coaches, along with tracking and scheduling SAGE study sessionsMaster's degree in education nor related area with at least two years of experience as a teacher, counselor, or administrator in higher education. Specialty in special education or reading specialist preferred experience working with educationally disadvantaged and high-risk students. Excellent public speaking, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational, managerial, classroom management, and technical skills.
