Friedland Industries, Inc. Is looking to fill a general laborer position!

We are scrap metal and fiber processors located in the heart of Lansing's Old Town for over 135 years. We are a union shop, offering full benefits and 401k contribution.

The ideal candidate must have a positive attitude, a safety-first mindset, and willingness to work and learn. with the nature of our business, material flow changes happen rapidly, and so does the work involved.

This position will be responsible for a variety of tasks including but not limited to:

Dumping, decasing, and unboxing scrap paper

Operating industrial size paper shredders

Assisting with baling crew

Sweeping/cleaning

Occasionally operating a forklift

Various tasks associated with operating a business in the recycled materials industry.

Starting wage is $16.44/hr with a $1.00/hr increase after a 60 working day probationary period.
