For more information about the company, please visit www.republicbank.com.POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES: The Credit Risk Manager will oversee, review, and provide approval to the credit policies, strategies, and underwriting guidelines for the Bank's consumer lending programs developed and managed with program managers. Working with the Bank's Legal, Compliance and Operations teams, this position will evaluate credit policies and underwriting guidelines to mitigate risk and ensure programs fully comply with all Bank operational and credit policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements (e.g. Bank Secrecy Act, Know You Client, Fair Lending Practices, etc.).MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of combined experience in Credit Risk Management, Underwriting Policy Design, Credit Policy or Credit Manager (preferably in the customer credit industry) required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills combined with solid business judgement required. Considerable knowledge of Risk/Compliance competencies. Strong process facilitation, project management, and analytical skills.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conduct ongoing reviews to monitor portfolio performance; identify areas of weakness (and strength) in performance. Develop insight into reasons for any performance deviation. Work with program managers to develop credit policies and identify opportunities to grow or enhance the programs through changes and improvements to the credit m odel, underwriting process, credit guidelines or customer acquisition strategy. Partner with Bank Legal & Compliance teams to ensure credit strategies and policies comply with all applicable regulatory requirements. Responsible for the ongoing risk management of any changes or modifications made to credit models, guidelines, and strategies of assigned portfolio. Advise senior management of emerging trends, risks or regulatory changes effecting underwriting standards and policies. Analyze, monitor, and create reporting on any suggested changes or modifications to existing program managers' credit standards or underwriting guide. Review and challenge program managers' proposed changes and modifications to underwriting guidelines and provide feedback on new enhancements or services particularly related to credit risk. Work with Relationship Managers to establish credit performance KPIs and credit risk indicators. Track policy exceptions that will provide meaningful feedback to understand credit portfolio risk, future potential credit problems, and provide feedback to review and enhance underwriting guidelines. Maintain a working knowledge of compliance requirements affecting your position and area of responsibilities and actively learn new regulations and assist in the implementation, if required. Must be detail oriented and well organized. Must have the ability to create and write reports presentable to executive level personnel. Must be able to converse with Bank executives, bank partner executive level personnel, law enforcement and internal Bank legal and compliance peers.
