Smog Technician Wanted

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Technician with a valid Smog Technician License to join our team. The main location we are looking to hire for is the Smog Wizard located in the Carvana Inspection Center in Rocklin (3500 Cincinnati Ave, Rocklin, CA 95765). The schedule would be part time, weekend shifts (Saturday and Sunday), 8:00 AM -4:00 PM. There is opportunity for more hours if the applicant is willing to work at the Smog Wizard location at 7610 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95826. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in understanding of emissions and the smog check process. This role is essential for maintaining the standards we have set at Smog Wizard. Applicants are also required to maintain a good working relationship with Carvana employees as well as customers if also working at the Sacramento location.

Duties

- Have an in depth knowledge of the smog process for car years 2000 and newer as well has 2000 and older

- Have an understanding of OEM and aftermarket parts and how to correctly document in Bar-IOS when running smog test.

- Identify when aftermarket parts are present and be able to verify if they are legal per year, make, and model of the vehicle.

- Be able to use a Dynamometer and understand the process and we'll as follow safety regulations when operating a Dynamometer.

- Be able to perform and EVAP test.

- Maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees and customers.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.

- Collaborate with team members to enhance workflow efficiency and quality of service.

Experience

- Proven experience in automotive service or as a Smog Technician

- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience of the Smog Process

- Experience with hand tools and machinery relevant to the Smog Process.

- Smog Technician with an FPR score greater than or equal to 0.40

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week
