Automotive Mechanic

Job description

Looking to hire a self-motivated full-time automotive mechanic to join our growing, family-owned business. Come and join our team Monday-Friday 8-5 and enjoy a small family-oriented shop atmosphere with a variety of vehicles to repair. Preferably have your own tools. One year experience minimum. Some job responsibilities would include:

Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately

Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade

Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity

Performs tasks for which they are qualified in one or more of the following areas: brakes, electrical, engine performance, engine repair, heating/air conditioning, suspension/steering, automatic transmissions/transaxles and manual drivetrains and axles.

Keeps store management aware of service area mechanical repair problems as they occur.

Performs other duties as assigned or as required for the orderly management of the store, such as: removing mounting and/or installing tires, shock absorbers, batteries and other automotive supplies and services; loading and unloading trucks requiring the movement of items weighting up to 100 lbs.

Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use

Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)

Maintain equipment and tools in good condition

Ability to work on tires, brakes, suspension, exhaust, A/C, heating

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 + per hour based on experience

Expected hours: 40 per week
