Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Controller in the financial industry, located in Bedford Heights, Ohio, United States. This role involves overseeing the company's financials, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing the accounting team. Responsibilities: Oversee the generation of entries from accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general journal to be posted to the general ledger. Manage the use and adaptation to accounting computer software. Ensure the preparation of unadjusted trial balance to an adjusted financial statement for review or audit by public accountants. Exhibit strong management and leadership skills in directing the financial team. Prepare prepaid and accrual accounting schedules as needed. Reconcile monthly cash and brokerage statements to the general ledger. Utilize analytical skills to research problems or prepare financial analyses. Display flexibility in performing accounts payable or payroll functions, when necessary. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, notably MS Excel. Collaborate effectively with others in a cordial and friendly environment. Understand and manage intercompany loans and allocations between related entities. Interface with outside audit firms, banks, insurance agents, credit card companies, and collection agencies. Assist current controllers in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks while learning their overall position for potential future advancement.For Immediate CONFIDENTIAL consideration, call Tom May @ 216-800-7232Requirements Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar role. Hold a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation. Proficient in using Crystal Reports. Have extensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Experience in auditing and budget processes is a must. Familiarity with payroll, specifically for 101-500 employees. Proficient in General Ledger and Month End Close. Capable of handling bank reconciliations and maintaining bank relations. Experience in financial statement preparation is essential. Knowledge of wire transfer procedures. Able to conduct Ad Hoc Analysis and Ad Hoc Financial Analysis. Experience in property management is a plus. Familiarity with government audits and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) regulations. Detail-oriented and able to multi-task effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and guide a team. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. Advanced degree is a plus.
