The Facilities Technician will be responsible for maintaining multiple aspects of facility maintenance for the diverse portfolio of YWCA buildings.You will also use a variety of skills to perform common duties which assure the safety of our tenants and staff. You will help oversee the general and detailed maintenance program as well as working closely with fellow staff and vendors to provide critical coordination, communication and information for the safe and efficient functioning of facilities and housing.?This position has a social justice component that will require critical thinking around how the external systems impact the work that we are doing through the lens of racism and intersections with poverty. Track and record process.Assist when needed with painting, drywall, plumbing repairs, troubleshoot electrical, ballast changing, cleaning, rekeying, light carpentry repairs and general repairs to all building systems of common areas.Assist and support in the administration of all maintenance related functions including tracking of inventory, data entry, and maintaining safety records within YWCA documents.Assist the Ops Manager in all aspects of the community's physical upkeep, common grounds, areas, keeping areas clean and safe for all residents and employees.Assist in scheduling or performing proper testing, regular inspections, and maintenance of community and preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) in units including pumps, boilers, fire control systems, elevators, backup generators, smoke, and carbon monoxide detector systems in units. Oversee contractors when professional services and repairs are necessary.Promptly available to on-call responses to after-hours building emergenciesEnsure all communication projects, messages and requests are within the overall strategy and aligned with company-wide messaging throughout YWCA.Develops and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, volunteers, vendors, residents, and clients.Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts and services for projects.
