Sr. Accountant
Description We are in search of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in LIVONIA, Michigan. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for preparing monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, maintaining financial controls, and supporting treasury functions. This role is essential in maintaining our company's financial health and making sure we meet our financial goals.Responsibilities: Prepare month-end journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations for various divisions. Conduct intercompany reconciliations between entities and maintain divisional statements. Support treasury function by tracking fixed assets and maintaining financial controls. Calculate and record deduction and allowance expense accruals for customers. Collaborate and maintain monthly plant P& L dashboard by branch and territory, ensuring it reconciles with report Group results. Support the development of analytical tools for the areas of scrap, logistics, labor efficiency, and capital spend. Consolidate, evaluate, analyze, and report metric trends and cost efficiencies across the division both weekly and monthly, helping analyze root cause and validate accuracy against month-end financials. Ensure capital expenditures and capitalization policies are following corporate standards. Assist with account analysis for external auditors and perform Ad Hoc requests from Assistant Controller and Divisional Managers. Continuously review and adjust processes for improvement in daily, weekly, and monthly accounting functions. Uphold financial controls in daily execution of accounting tasks in compliance with financial policies. Requirements Must possess a minimum of three years of experience in accounting or a related field Proven proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations Demonstrated experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills are required Must possess strong organization and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary Must have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Must demonstrate high levels of integrity and professionalism Must be legally eligible to work in the specified location.
