Front desk/Scheduler
Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Answering of phones and scheduling of patients or providing messages to other staff
2. Checking in patients including moving them through the steps in scheduling system to ensure an encounter is created
3. Patient Portal
a. Providing patients with information if not already signed up or declined
b. Set-up of patient access or noting they declined daily
4. Patient Paperwork
a. Getting new patients and updated paperwork for existing patients as needed
b. Verification of insurance at each visit – including removal of old if changed
c. Set-up of Patient in scheduling system from facesheet except for insurance
5. Collecting insurance information for new patients at time of creating appointment and entry into New Patient Insurance spreadsheet
6. Collecting Family History as needed and entry daily
7. Scheduling following up appointments during patient visit per direction from doctor
8. Scanning of paperwork generated through patient visits/authorizations
9. Attaching of faxed information and sending onto doctor for sign-off
10. Distribution of fax information into the necessary folders to make sure staff can manage correspondence
11. Daily follow-up of all messages from doctor to closure before leaving for the day
12. Faxing information to other offices as necessary
13. Calling of patient for orthotics/shoes for pick-up and documenting
14. Calling/researching pre-authorizations as needed to support patient visits
15. Support MA activities when they are out of office
16. Other duties as trained
