Job description:

Design and Development Collaborate with multi-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical and physical systems, components, and prototypes.

Develop and complete validation plans and procedures to ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of products.

Analysis: Apply analytical tools and software to assess and optimize the mechanical and physical characteristics of products

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test results, and validation reports (DVP)

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process optimization and contribute to the improvement of engineering practices.

Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical and physical systems into larger projects.

Key responsibilities:

Manage system level DVP documentation based on Standard templates

Coordinate completion of all virtual System DVP testing!

Coordinate all bench related system testing with nominated suppliers to fully complete DVP activities within the required timeframe

Work with testing suppliers for, debug and triage of ongoing test issues!

Lead mid-test (where necessary) and end of test inspections with above Product Release team members to appropriately assess each test as Pass/Fail using inspection process and assessment criteria

Complete The End-of-Test reports aligning with provided template

Handle the triage of vehicle testing at all PGs within 24hrs

Support triage of Mule1/Mule2 vehicles with transmission issues within 24hrs

Support pre-pilot/launch activities at transmission manufacturing facility and vehicle manufacturing plants (Kokomo)

Initiate and respond to product or validation concerns documented in the Issue Management system (GIMS)

Required Skills:

B.S. Mechanical, Aero, Electrical or equivalent Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.

We are looking at least 5 years of engineering experience in Automatic Transmission/Driveline/Electrified Powertrain hardware, calibration, or controls development.

Must have excellent communication and presentation skills as well as experience with basic PC software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, and Project).

We are looking candidate with highly motivated, self-directed, can lead multiple projects, and have a positive demeanor.

.Preferred candidates will hold a master’s degree or equivalent experience in engineering and/or have experience in transmission and/or driveline design, development, and testing

Specific experience with software (Vector tools, INCA), calibration, efficiency and/or thermal management is desired

An understanding of transmission & driveline operation and the interaction between gears, clutches, and electrohydraulic components is desired

Experience with transmission & driveline testing procedures, in vehicle or on dynamometer, and other related considerations are also highly valued.
