We are hiring for a MES Engineer to join our team! As a MES Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of OT systems and IT technology specific to Manufacturing and Quality operations. These include the expansion and optimization of existing applications including Kepware, WinSPC, SQL Databases, OSI PI Historian, and Tulip. ResponsibilitiesPartner with Manufacturing and Quality/Reliability Engineering organizations to develop solutions through effective understanding of business and process requirementsPlan configuration of digital OT architecture and influence data strategy as technology evolvesImplement and support technical solutions related to MES and Historian systemsStaying abreast of the latest IT advancements and emerging technologies in industry and providing recommendations in support of strategic goalsResolve problems with OT data flow and applicationsProvide consulting and guidance to end users to access or analyze data in useful waysProduce documentation including process maps, data architecture maps, integration requirements, protocols/data specifications as neededBuild IT credibility by modeling professionalism, excellence, integrity, and passionManaging technical deliverables for projects, contributing to project plan scope, and monitoring performance for timely completionCreate dashboards and data views to show real time information as requiredRequirementsBachelor's Degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration with an emphasis in technologyMinimum 8 years’ experience in an Information Technology field relevant to manufacturing operationsUnderstanding of core business processes such as Quality, Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0Self-managed, self-starter, pro-active, and able to manage multiple concurrent activities with time constraintsStrong business engagement and professional written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills across all levels of an organizationMastery of technological solutions according to the ISA-95 modelExperience with API integrationsExperience designing, developing, and implementing MES enhancements in addition to net-new deliveries according to functional requirements documentsStrong SQL skillsExperience with Tulip's Application Builder. This includes understanding how to design user interfaces, configure workflows, add widgets, set up data collection forms, and integrate with other systems.Understanding of industrial automation processes, including knowledge of various protocols used in the industry (such as OPC, Modbus, MQTT, etc.) is crucial. Familiarity with SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems and PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programmingProficiency in configuring and administering Kepware servers and drivers. This includes setting up communication channels, configuring data tags, managing security settings, and monitoring server performance.Familiarity with the architecture of OSIsoft PI System, including components like PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (PI AF), PI Interfaces, PI Vision (formerly PI ProcessBook), and other modules. Understanding how these components work together to collect, store, and visualize data is crucial.The ability to troubleshoot communication issues, diagnose problems with device connections, and debug configuration errors. This includes analyzing error logs, understanding diagnostic messages, and employing troubleshooting tools available.Nice to have requirementsDirect shop floor experience with Manufacturing and Quality EngineeringDemonstrated proficiency establishing integrations between Oracle ERP and associated systemsExperience developing and supporting solutions utilizing barcode scanning transactionsWorking knowledge of ITIL IT service management concepts and principlesKnowledge of networking concepts like TCP/IP, Ethernet, routers, switches, firewalls, and subnettingAbout TEKsystems: We're partners in transformation.
