Pay Range: $18 - $19 per hour
Job Type: Part-Time

About the role
As a Technician I, you will get trained and assist in restoring high-quality front doors, ensuring every project meets our standards for craftsmanship and customer satisfaction
Key responsibilities
- Customer Collaboration: Collaborate with customers to understand needs and preferences
Technical and Craftsmanship Duties will include:
- Disassemble door hardware: Carefully remove locks, knobs, hinges, and other hardware components to prepare the door for refinishing
- Inspect for damage and perform repairs: Assess doors for cracks, rot, or structural issues; repair minor damage using fillers and woodworking techniques
- Strip and sand surfaces: Remove existing finishes using appropriate stripping agents and sand the wood to a smooth, even surface
- Apply finishing products: Precisely apply varnish, stains, paint, or shellac to achieve the desired look, ensuring a flawless, professional finish
- Shop Safety and Organization: Maintain a safe, organized, and productive shop environment
- Training and Mentorship: After completing training and gaining experience, you’ll help train and mentor new hires, supporting their development while continuing to grow your own skills
- Goal Setting and Execution: Work closely with the General Manager to set and achieve production goals
What you bring
- Education: High school diploma or GED required
- Woodworking Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience, especially with finishing techniques
- Technical Skills: Advanced hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and proficiency with hand and power tools
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication abilities and focus on customer satisfaction
- Driver’s License: Valid license required, and ability to commute/relocate to Des Moines, IA
- Certification: Certificate in Woodworking Technology preferred but not required
