Brooklyn Candle Studio is an independent home fragrance design and manufacturing studio based out of Brooklyn, New York. Our core line of products include handcrafted candles, room sprays, and reed diffusers. We produce and ship our products out of our warehouse space in Industry City - a hub of makers, designers, artists, and small businesses. Our dreamy scents are inspired by nature and travel, and our aesthetic is minimalist yet impeccably chic. We always use the highest quality of ingredients.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Brooklyn Candle Studio is seeking dynamic and dependable part-time and full-time Seasonal Retail Associates for our pop-up shop in Industry City’s Innovation Alley. These positions require availability to work during November and December, with the possibility of extending into the New Year based on business needs. The shop will be open seven days a week; our operating hours are Monday through Saturday, 10:45 AM to 7:15 PM, and Sunday, 10:45 AM to 6:15 PM. Preferred schedules will be coordinated individually, considering hiring needs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES include but are not limited to:

Customer Service: Create positive and memorable experiences for customers that foster brand loyalty.

Multitasking Ability: Successfully handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.

Product Expertise: Maintain knowledge of a wide range of products and share your expertise to provide personalized recommendations, explaining the craftsmanship and benefits of our quality materials and designs

Teamwork: Collaborate with team members to optimize customer experience and store operations, ensuring a supportive and positive work environment.

Store Maintenance: Participate in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the store. Conduct restocks, daily inventory counts and reporting.

Sales Support: Assist the leadership team in driving sales, customer engagement, visual merchandising, and operational excellence.

Flexibility: Model reliability and adaptability by working varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Tech Savvy: Embrace and utilize technologies and systems (Shopify, Slack, Google Suite) to enhance customer service and operational efficiency

Opening/Closing Duties: Perform opening and closing tasks, with potential responsibility for store keys.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 2+ years in retail or customer service; experience with POS systems preferred. No minimum education required; a bachelor's degree may indicate capacity.

Skills: Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and basic math. Proven ability to engage customers and drive sales. Positive, collaborative and self-motivated mindset.

Physical Requirements: Comfortable using a ladder, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs; able to maintain an active presence on the sales floor.
