Position Summary
The therapist will provide individual, group, and family therapies to children, adolescents or adults depending on program support population using evidence-based practices in addiction-substance use disorders, mental health diagnosis and other areas as required by program. Perform initial assessment, treatment plans, individual and group counseling, coordinate with program support staff to identify and secure additional services and resources based on client needs.Morris Home supports transgender and nonbinary individuals with a gender-affirming and supportive environment as they develop the knowledge, skills, and supports necessary to promote sobriety, manage emotional and behavioral difficulties, choose and maintain safe and healthy lifestyles, and develop healthy relationships with peers, family and the community. Morris Home, the only residential recovery program in the country to offer comprehensive services specifically for the transgender and gender-expansive community, provides a safe, recovery-oriented environment in which people exist as their authentic selves and are treated with respect and dignity.
Essential Duties and Functions
Therapy
Conduct intake assessments including recommendations for treatment
Provide individual, group and family therapies to people with mental health and substance abuse issues.
Caseload management
Maintain active caseload including engaging individuals in ongoing treatment.
Maintain tracking system for treatment plans, and other required documents to meet program funder guidelines and program goals.
Participate in clinical group meetings regarding ongoing treatment goals, progress and discharge as needed.
Administrative
Enter documentation into electronic medical records in accordance with agency guidelines.
Must be LGBTQ competent and affirming
Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field.
Two years' experience providing direct therapy in the area of mental health, substance use or IDD.
Familiar with standard business computer software programs and electronic Health Care Database programs.
ACT 33/34 clearances if required by program
FBI clearance, as needed
