IT Business Analyst Data Management
DescriptionLocation: On site in Memphis, TN, Maryville, TN, Birmingham, AL, Lafayette, LA, New Orleans, LA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC.No Visa sponsorship or transfers are available for this positionSummaryThe IT BA Data Management position will drive the delivery and support of applications independently for the Customer Data Management & Corporate Systems team. This will include but not limited to coordination of requests for ETL, acting as liaison between the Development/QA teams and requesting lines of business. This includes facilitating questions the Data Delivery team may have during development and testing along with assignment and tracking of new/updated processes following through to completion. The team uses Jira for creation of tasks and tracking and there is a Data Delivery Kanban board that is used to coordinate between different IT teams. This position will work closely with other Data delivery BA’s to ensure overall workflow objectives are inline and on track.Duties and Responsibilities:
Review of mapping documents submitted for completion by ETL. During the course of development, as warranted, request updates to the mapping so that the documentation and developed code remain in sync.
Lead daily stand-up call with the Data Delivery team (on and offshore developers and QA team members)
As needed, support testing of new/updated processes.
Attend meetings with the lines of business, as requested, on any process
Open weekly change order for the team, making sure all proof of testing is in order and communicate with the lines of business. Coordinate all necessary tasks for the change including but not limited to
Promotion of new/updated code to production – include deployment guides on the task
Promotion of new/updated schedules to production. Coordinate with the Scheduling team.
Promotion of Requests to production. Requests associated are mainly for DBAs to promote database changes to prod. Coordinate with the appropriate resources to ensure availability.
Validation tasks for lines of business following implementation.
Keep track of the change order number associated with the promotion of the particular Data Delivery tasks to production.
Accomplish team goals and objectives in accordance with company policies and goals to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness
Team player who is able to develop skills, has a willingness to learn, and supports other team members
Understands the business and organizational implications of key application technology alternatives for wide-impact initiatives; work with team members in taking appropriate action
Work with team members to balance LOB and Operations demands against internal capacity, roadmap commitments, and expectations from LOB and Operations
Addresses problems of system integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms
Possess ability to manage multiple activities and multiple projects
Assist with audit and other regulatory agencies. Provide necessary information in appropriate manner
Adhere to FHB security practices
Support tactical and strategic plans of the Customer Data Management & Corporate Systems team, IT Division, and the FHB organization
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of BA and support experience in ETL process and or database management.
High level of competency of different data platforms
Technical team experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Strategic planner who can collaborate with line of business and operations partners
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
Ability to balance workload and meet internal/external deadlines
Expertise in reviewing and evaluating work of others on the IT staff for quality/governance
Detail oriented
Ability to work independently
Strong analytical skills and development skills
Client-service oriented; skilled in establishing and maintaining a high level of client trust and confidence in the group’s knowledge of and concern for clients’ needs
Knowledge of source control / change control practices, adhere to established standards / governance / SDLC / application lifecycle
Ability to use MS Office Tool (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio) as needed for job duties and responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of development experience with ETL design and or DBA system support
Experience with DB2 z/os
Experience with Jira and Agile best practices
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Extensive experience in data development across multiple platforms
Expertise in enterprise planning like technology recovery, strategic planning, etc.
