Job Overview and Requirements
Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. seeks an experienced Motions Paralegal to join our team.
We are looking for an organized individual with experience working in a high-volume practice drafting motions and pleadings, preparing correspondence, and conducting investigative skip tracing.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, dependable, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills.
Essential Responsibilities
Review delinquent tax and municipal claim files and determine the appropriate course of action.
Prepare Motions and routine pleadings for attorney review and signature. Coordinate presentation of Motions with Counsel; conduct electronic filing of pleadings; comply with Court Orders.
Independently and as assigned prepare correspondence to property owners, clients and third parties consistent with PLA policies and procedures. Understand and ensure compliance with consumer protection laws.
Conduct public record searches; effectively interpret the results and update file histories. Perform skip-tracing using third-party vendors and/or software applications.
Answer and return calls from property owners, attorneys, courthouse personnel.

Qualifications:
Proficient in MS Office. Capacity to learn and effectively navigate other software applications (Collection Partner, RMS, Landex, County websites).
Adept at conducting public record research and synthesizing information gathered from multiple sources.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Exceptional proof-reading skills along with a propensity to effectively customize form templates.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills. Ability to demonstrate empathy and handle sensitive situations with poise, diplomacy and tact.
Capable to work independently or as part of a team as well as independently prioritize tasks that meet organizational objectives.
Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
Spanish fluency is a plus.
Ability to work over-time as mandated.
Education and/or Experience
Paralegal Certification preferred. In the absence of certification, Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) and 1-3 years related experience.
