Job Description – Caregiver Driver

Place of Employment: Picking up, transporting, and dropping off from various work sites as required by Freedom Independent Living Home Care (dba Freedom Home Care).

Job Summary: The Caregiver Driver is responsible for providing transportation services and caregiving support to clients while representing Freedom Home Care. This role combines caregiving with safe, reliable transportation and includes marketing Freedom Home Care’s services to facilities during client transports. The Caregiver Driver ensures that clients receive the highest level of care, promoting dignity and independence. This position requires working independently, balancing initiative and judgment with company policies, while also proactively engaging in marketing efforts to expand the company’s reach.

Work Hours: This position may involve various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and occasionally weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities: A combination of transportation and caregiving responsibilities will be performed. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

A. Transportation Services:

o Safely drive clients to and from medical appointments, errands, social outings, and other engagements.

o Provide assistance during transportation, including helping clients into and out of the vehicle, securing mobility aids (e.g., wheelchairs), and ensuring client comfort throughout the trip.

o Escort clients as needed to appointments, providing support and companionship during the process.

o Follow all traffic laws and maintain the vehicle in good working condition, ensuring cleanliness and safety.

B. Client Safety and Well-being:

o Ensure a safe environment for clients during transportation and caregiving activities.

o Monitor the physical and emotional condition of the client and report any changes to the appropriate parties.

Qualifications:

1. Current or willing to obtain CNA, NAC, or HCA certificate.

2. Valid driver’s license with a perfect driving record.

3. Reliable vehicle with current insurance. (You will drive a company vehicle)

4. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

5. Current or willing to obtain certification in first aid and CPR.

6. Compassionate, patient, and caring nature with excellent communication and listening skills.

7. Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.

8. Must be physically and mentally fit to handle the demands of transportation.

Preferences:

1. 1+ years driver experience

2. 1+ years CNA or HCA experience

3. 1+ years of Marketing experience

General Notes:

The Caregiver Driver is expected to maintain a professional and compassionate demeanor, providing the highest level of service to clients. Safety and sound judgment are paramount in both caregiving and transportation tasks. This role may require flexibility in duties as needed, and the scope of responsibilities may evolve over time.
