Job Description

The Manual Machinist will produce or repair precision parts using manual equipment. Responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment to produce high-quality parts according to specifications. This role requires a high level of precision and attention to detail, as well as the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Must be a highly skilled craftsman/woman or artisan in the field of metal manufacturing.

Roles and responsibilities

Operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to produce parts as per specifications.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documents.

Set up and adjust machine tools and equipment for production runs.

Inspect completed parts to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

Creation of fixtures and gages to support Production or Assembly operations.

Rework of non-conforming parts.

Perform polishing on critical surface finishing.

Perform assembly that requires high level skill set.

Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on manual Machine equipment.

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes.

Keep accurate records of production runs, including measurements and adjustments made.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

Proficient in operating manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining equipment.

Strong understanding of machining principles, techniques, and tools.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.

Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.

Ability to work in a noisy environment with exposure to machining equipment.

Excellent attention to detail and precision.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a machining environment.

Education / Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in machining preferred.

Proven experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role.

8:00AM - 4:45PMhift

Monday to Friday
