Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join a company in Honolulu, Hawaii. The role involves maintaining the accuracy of our company's operating fund records, ensuring timely and precise reporting of balances and activities. In this role, you will review and approve fund transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare various financial and budget reports. You will also provide analytical and operational support to other areas of the Finance Department as needed. If you are interested in this role, please contact Melissa Tree at 808.452.0254Responsibilities: Ensure all transactions related to the company's Operating Fund are accurately recorded in a timely manner. Conduct monthly and annual accounting closing of the Operating Fund, including the review, preparation, or posting of all required accounting entries. Perform reconciliation of various general ledger accounts and analysis of accounting reports. Prepare and review adhoc accounting reports to support other departments within the company. Assist with the development and evaluation of the Operating Fund budgets and prepare budget variance reports. Monitor and manage Operating Fund cash flow to optimize operating and investment activities, ensuring movement of funds in compliance with policies and procedures. Process semi-monthly payroll for the company's employees, including time entry, payroll journal entries, reconciliation of payroll related general ledger accounts, and processing of employee withholding remittances. Ensure timely payroll tax and W2 filings. Prepare various tax and other regulatory filings, such as general excise taxes and Form 1099. Prepare various annual audit and Form 990 schedules. Administer the company's corporate credit card, air, and travel rental car account program activities, ensuring the related transactions are recorded timely and accurately. Implement and maintain effective internal controls. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Support ad hoc Finance projects.Requirements Must have a strong background in account reconciliation Proficient in balance sheet reconciliation Experience in bank reconciliations is essential Knowledge of general ledger operations Able to prepare and process journal entries Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required Experience with month end close processes Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software Experience managing payroll for 101-500 employees Must hold a relevant degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Previous experience in a Senior Accountant role is preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and as a part of a team Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
