Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Cost Senior Accountant in San Antonio, Texas. This role is integral to a large manufacturing company, where the successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining and developing accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role also involves reconciling inventory accounts, performing cost/inventory analysis, and supporting the Controller in general ledger responsibilities, reporting, analysis, and compliance activities.Responsibilities: Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Assist in establishing item cost and reconciling inventory accounts. Perform cost and inventory analysis. Support the Controller in general ledger responsibilities, reporting, analysis, and compliance activities. Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. Continuously improve team processes for efficiency and productivity. Prepare and post cost/inventory journal entries on a monthly basis. Participate in annual cost activities, understanding bills of materials and standard costs. Record and reconcile results of physical inventories and cycle counts. Develop analysis reports and analyze cost variances. Assist in the improvement of internal controls related to inventory and cost setup. Requirements Proven experience as a Cost Senior Accountant for at least 3 years Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Excel, including Excel Formulas Familiarity with Epicor and Oracle ERP software Extensive knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) Understanding of Budget Processes and Cash Activity Expertise in Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Cost Accounting Ability to manage General Ledger Experience in Financial Statement Preparation Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Bank Account Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, and Cash Reconciliations Experience in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Ability to perform Ad Hoc Analysis Knowledge of GAAP Accounting and US GAAP Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
