What you’ll do:

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for all functions at our industrial food waste processing facility in Freetown. Key responsibilities for this position include maintaining a productive culture based on respect, managing accountability to standard work processes, hands-on leadership with daily operations and maintenance tasks, and effective communication within the facility and the company.

Shifts available:

Night Shift: Monday to Friday, 7 pm to 3:30 am

This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others.

Responsibilities:

Directly manage, hire and train Operators and Maintenance personnel; provide guidance and performance feedback

Oversee shift-to-shift operations of the plant, including production scheduling, workflow coordination, and resource allocation

Monitor production processes to identify areas for improvement and implement efficiency-enhancing measures

Operate production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines

Conduct regular inspections and routine maintenance to assess equipment condition, facility cleanliness, and ensure optimal performance

Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime

Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment for all employees

Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, engineering, and logistics, to optimize plant performance and meet production targets

Maintain accurate production records and documentation

Maintain inventory levels and coordinate material procurement to support production

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies at all times

Prepare reports on plant performance, including production metrics, quality control data, and safety incidents

Physical Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential functions for this position and meet the physical requirements needed to perform them, including but not limited to frequently require the ability to drive a forklift, sit; hear or talk: use close vision; use hands to grasp, handle or feel objects; and type and manipulate controls. Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry up to 50 lbs frequently

Must be able to bend, stand, walk, sit, kneel frequently

Comfortable and able to transition on and off a forklift handling multiple tasks throughout a shift

Is comfortable operating equipment and repetitive tasks throughout their shift

Is able to handle potential changes in temperature on site, humidity and wetness in working area

What we’re looking for:

HS Diploma or equivalent

3+ years in an operations management role with hiring and people management

Proven track record of leading production/processing systems

Possess the ability to work with ambiguity by asking thoughtful questions that provide data that is then analyzed and synthesized to make balanced assessments and smart decisions

Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills

Experience with hands on preventive maintenance work and understanding of preventative maintenance programs

Familiarity with operating machinery and hand tools

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams and instructions

Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping
