Pizza Prepper/Crust Maker
Dove Vivi is a neighborhood favorite, a regional destination, and a third generation renegade. The original cornmeal crust recipe was stolen in the 80's from Chicago, and again in the 90's in San Francisco, but by the time Dove was established in 2007, the knowledge of how to make the pies had evolved into a gift from a friend in Los Angeles. The fetishization of thin-crusted-wood-fired pizzas was in full swing, so we had to change hearts and minds one pizza at a time. This was not easy! It still isn't. But it's considered our greatest rebellion: staying alive for 17 years (which is 140 in restaurant years), operating as a family owned restaurant (with sisters and kids and husbands and everything!), and making food from scratch daily out of real ingredients.
We pay competitively, and tips are shared generously. We have manual time cards, no POS system, and hand write customers' orders. We are looking for a person who appreciates the meditation of working hard, can multi-task, and understands personal accountability. We have pride in being honest, and saying please and thank you. Old school values. If you really want to impress us, come by and introduce yourself! If you don't have a printer, write your name down on a guest check.
