Position: Christmas Light Installer

Location: Houston, TX

We are an experiential event company expanding into the Houston market for the holiday season, and we’re excited to bring the magic of Christmas to life with an immersive, visually stunning experience. We are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Light Installers who have a passion for creating festive environments using lighting as a key element. The ideal candidate will love the holiday spirit and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lighting Design Installation: Install holiday lighting and illuminate the event space in a way that enhances the overall aesthetic, ensuring the event exudes holiday warmth and cheer.

Electrical Work: Set up and wire all lighting systems, ensuring safe and proper connections, voltage matching, and adherence to safety codes and regulations.

Custom Lighting Solutions: Create unique, festive lighting setups, including string lights, floodlights, spotlights, and other decorative lighting elements that align with the event's holiday theme.

Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or electrical issues with lighting installations during the setup process and throughout the event.

Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain lighting throughout the event to ensure everything stays illuminated and functional. Replace faulty or damaged lighting as needed.

Collaboration: Work closely with the creative team, set designers, and decorators to ensure lighting complements the overall design and atmosphere of the event.

Time Management: Manage tight installation timelines, ensuring all lighting is installed and operational before the event opens. Assist in teardown and proper storage of lighting equipment post-event.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in commercial lighting installation, event lighting, or related electrical work. Experience in holiday lighting is a plus.

Electrical Knowledge: Solid understanding of wiring, voltage requirements, and safety regulations for both indoor and outdoor installations.

Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure the lighting setup is visually pleasing, safe, and functional.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly identify and fix issues that arise with lighting or electrical systems during installation and the event itself.

Physical Stamina: Willingness to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays (including Thanksgiving), in physically demanding environments. Must be able to climb ladders, lift equipment, and work on your feet for extended periods.

Safety Focus: Ensure all lighting is safely installed, following best practices and safety protocols to protect guests and staff.

Team Collaboration: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment alongside other installers, designers, and event coordinators.

Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing project needs and timelines as the event evolves.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with holiday or themed lighting installations

Familiarity with LED lighting and energy-efficient solutions

Ability to create custom lighting designs and layouts

Experience working in outdoor environments with weather considerations
