Hospitality Associate/ Patient Services - Valley Health- Winchester Medical Center
Job DescriptionThe Hospitality Associate/ Patient Services supports patients and staff by serving wholesome and attractive meals while maintaining strict sanitation requirements. This role requires a high level of coordination with hospital staff to ensure meals are provided in a manner that supports the patient?s nutritional and medical needs.Job Responsibilities
Coordinate and collaborate with hospital floor staff (RNs, CNAs, and other clinical staff) to ensure accurate meal service aligned with patient needs.
Verify patient information (name, room number, food order, preferences, allergies, and diet) for accuracy before service.
Assemble and deliver meal trays on time, ensuring they meet dietary requirements while honoring patient preferences.
Serve meals promptly, ensuring they are warm, garnished, and delivered to the correct patient.
Interact with patients, asking about food preferences and addressing any concerns.
Follow established procedures for "Late Trays," ensuring delivery within 30 minutes.
Stock nursing area refrigerators and transport food warmers to the correct prep kitchen.
Prepare side dishes and assist the Cook with plating food when necessary.
Properly receive and store food orders.
Check food temperatures in collaboration with the Cook before service.
Research and understand dietary restrictions and food allergies to ensure compliance with patient needs.
Dispose of waste and clean utensils, equipment, and the dishwashing area using the Three Sink Method and dish machine.
Label and date items for inventory and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
Listen to and address customer concerns without deviating from departmental policies.
Report any compliments, complaints, or concerns to a supervisor
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous food service experience and/or training preferred.
Ability to interact respectfully and hospitably with patients of all ages and abilities.
Able to perform simple calculations and record keeping.
Able to work independently with limited supervision while remaining efficient and on-task.
Strong communication skills required for interacting with staff and patients.
