Magnolia is looking for a creative and driven Kitchen Lead to help us elevate our food program and be a part of something exciting (new ownership and under new vision). If you’re passionate about cooking for people who need great food, we want to meet you!

Responsibilities

Lead the Kitchen Team:

Help train, and schedule kitchen staff, fostering a positive and efficient working environment

Ensure high standards of food preparation and service are met across the board

Comply with California’s mandated meal breaks

Partner with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service

Resolve any food-related customer concerns with professionalism and urgency

Menu Innovation & Execution:

Collaborate with ownership to craft dynamic and progressive menus

Ensure consistency in quality, cost control, and flawless execution

Cost & Budgeting Mastermind:

Oversee inventory levels, maintain vendor relationships, and ensure ingredient availability

Minimize waste and maximize cost-efficiency by optimizing ingredient usage

Collaborate on budget planning, ensuring food and labor costs meet targets

Health & Safety Compliance:

Ensure food safety protocols and SFDPH health standards

Conduct regular safety audits to maintain a safe kitchen environments

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory kitchen role

Knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and health regulations (certification helps)

Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team

Strong budgeting, food cost control, and inventory management skills

Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced kitchen environment.

Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift heavy objects
