Senior Maternal – Fetal Medicine Specialist and Special Delivery Unit Associate Director (CHOP)
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of obstetrics & gynecology and maternal fetal medicine. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology or hold equivalent certification. They must be licensed or eligible for licensure in state of Pennsylvania.Teaching responsibilities may include clinical and didactic education of medical students, residents and fellows.Clinical responsibilities may include activities centering on prenatal diagnosis and counseling, fetal surgical interventions and the management and delivery of pregnancies complicated by congenital anomalies. Included will be coverage of the antepartum service, supervision of labor and delivery, obstetric ultrasound, and inpatient (single site) MFM consultation on the Garbose Family Special Delivery unit at CHOP.This position will provide oversight for our labor floor that provides care for maternal -fetal patients with prenatal diagnoses necessitating care after birth. The successful candidate will have a blend of clinical, administrative, and scholarly activities to support best practices in Obstetrics. The ideal candidate would have demonstrated ability and experience in managing medical, surgical, obstetric, fetal, and genetic complications of pregnancy and working collaboratively with other obstetric care providers in consultations, co-management, and transfer of care. An interest in clinical outcomes research is a plus. In this role the candidate will have the unique opportunity to work with experienced MFM and Surgical Fetal Interventionists at the Richard D. Wood Jr. Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment, one of the leading comprehensive fetal care centers in the world to house a full-service Obstetrics unit within a children’s hospital. The Center's expertise and depth of experience enables them to provide some of the most sophisticated and effective therapies available to patients and their families.
