You will work both as an independent contributor and as part of a matrix technical team to deliver next generation particle science capabilities to facilitate a step change for the development of future medicines. This role is equivalent to an industrial post-doctoral research position.Essential Functions:
Plans and executes experiments delivering new science and technology capabilities to the organization intended to augment the prediction of physical transformations (agglomeration, aggregation, dissolution) of suspension pharmaceutical dosage forms
Works with a matrix technical team to deliver the project
Proactively engage and seek assistance from other scientists to solve problems
Accurately captures work in laboratory notebook
Authors internal as well as external publications
Presents regular internal updates on project
Education and Experience:
At minimum, a PhD with focus research involving particle science and technology, colloidal science, rheology, surface and interfacial phenomena, soft matter, and related disciplines
Formal training in or focused research involving surface and interface characterization techniques, nanotechnologies, and particle analysis methods is desired.
Basic understanding of computational modeling and data science.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic knowledge of surface chemistry, interfacial phenomena, and surfactant and polymer science as well as physical surface chemistry principles
Research experience and publication track record in the field of particle science and technology, surface science, and/or nanotechnologies
Has knowledge and practical experience with characterization of particle systems at different time and length scales.
Some knowledge or interest in the use of the use of solvation parameters and molecular probes for characterizing surfaces
Understanding of approaches for the wettability assessments for particles.
