Insurance Advisor-Direct to ConsumersMorris Plains, New Jersey, 07950, United States Weichert Insurance Agency is currently hiring Insurance Advisors-Direct to Consumers in Morris Plains, NJ. The Insurance Advisor-DTC is responsible for the sale of insurance products offered by the Weichert Insurance Agency. The position develops an active pipeline of leads via prospecting, networking and business development in the local markets and across the country. The Insurance Advisor-DTC is a member working in conjunction with other team members to secure new business for the Company and assist in the retention of customers. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Achieves assigned sales objectives to include total policies, Agency commission, and type of policy. Actively works a pipeline of self-sourced leads with particular focus on assigned activity metrics such as quote rate and sales rate.
Develops an efficient cross-selling/account rounding strategy in order to sell multiple insurance products to new and existing clients.
Participates in community-based marketing events and networking organizations and events to establish an agency presence conducive to generating new sales opportunities.
Works with Special Projects Team to move business from prior carriers as eligible Weichert-appointed carriers while being mindful of limitations as result of prior employer non-solicit and non-compete agreements, if applicable.
Refers non-core products (e.g. life, health, commercial), if applicable, to qualified team members and provides partnering assistance to facilitate sales for the team.
Follows a front-line underwriting process in order to place new insurance business with the proper insurance carriers, matching client needs with the appropriate insurance product at the best available cost to the client while meeting profitability and growth objectives of partner carriers.
Works in conjunction with WIA’s Account Managers and Account Associates to deliver optimal customer service for new and existing customers to assist in maximizing Agency renewal income. Ensures all new customers are aware of the Agency’s service delivery model and its commitment to customer satisfaction.
Adheres to all Agency workflows through the use of the Agency’s client management system and other tools and processes.
Attends meetings as scheduled by the VP of Business Development and/or other management staff as deemed appropriate.
Performs other duties as assigned.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
High school diploma or GED
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Property and Casualty license required
Life and health license preferred
Valid driver’s license required
Five (5) or more years of related sales experience required
Previous experience in the insurance or related industry strongly preferred
Ability to understand insurance policy wording and contracts
Strong relationship building skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
Strong oral and written communications skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Strong attention to detail
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and fractions
Knowledge and ability to use typical office equipment (PC, calculator, fax machine, etc.)
