Contracts Specialist
Description We are in search of a Contracts Specialist to join our team in the Energy and Natural Resources industry in Parsippany, New Jersey. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity and will involve managing day-to-day accounting functions for our commercial accounting operations group. The position is pivotal in inventory valuation calculation and analysis, which informs the company's decision-making process.Responsibilities: Conduct LIFO inventory valuation calculation and scrutinize its financial impact on the company's results. Handle RINS and AB32 calculations and analysis, ensuring accurate tracking and examination to meet complex regulatory requirements. Manage the analysis and recording of derivative calculations involving intricate mark-to-market accounting. Oversee the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and borrowing base certificates. Facilitate the preparation of all monthly close journal entries and reconciliations related to refined products for a specific refinery. Coordinate the preparation, analysis, and review of weekly forecasts, informing upper management's expectations for monthly close results. Undertake the preparation of ad hoc and other strategic analyses/projects as per management's request. Leverage proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and SAP to streamline accounting operations. Ensure the completion of tasks within set deadlines and adjust to multiple work demands. Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field Proven experience as a Contracts Specialist or in a similar role within the energy or natural resources industry Demonstrated knowledge of contract law and regulations Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) Experience with SAP software is essential Excellent negotiation and communication skills High attention to detail with strong analytical abilities Ability to interpret and draft legal documents Must have the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously Strong organizational and time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team High ethical standards and professionalism, respecting confidentiality at all times.
