DescriptionThe AWS Enterprise Networking organization is looking for a System Development Engineer to join our Core Service Automation team. In this role you will work hand-in-hand with System Development teams, Frontend Engineering teams, and Network Engineering teams to drive stability, consistency, and sustainability of the network while never losing sight of the high security bar our customer’s demand. A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant degree/experience.
6+ years of professional software development experience in a similar environment.
4+ years of programming/scripting experience with at least one modern language such as C, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell or Ruby.
4+ years of experience with monitoring, troubleshooting and resolving system and software components.
4+ years of experience deploying and operating Linux in an enterprise environment, and a solid grasp on operating system fundamentals.
3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
3+ years of experience working independently as a senior contributor or a lead member in large project teams at other organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of system architecture best practice and experience designing with and integrating cloud-based services into production products.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Extensive experience with modern software development practices including Agile methodologies and DevOps.
