Whatcom Community College - Associate Director for Admissions and Enro
Whatcom Community College invites applications for an Associate Director for Admissions and Enrollment. The Associate Director for Admissions and Enrollment provides leadership, management, and support in the development and implementation of student-centered policies and procedures for admissions, enrollment, records, credential evaluation, graduation, and additional relevant enrollment functions through the College. The position oversees key entry and strategic enrollment operations, works closely with key campus stakeholders, and supervises Admissions and Enrollment classified staff. This position reports to the Director for Enrollment Services/Registrar. The Associate Director works closely with multiple departments in implementing and evaluating plans and initiatives to support entry, progression, and completion of Whatcom Community College's diverse student population.
Responsibilities
Admissions and Enrollment:
-Serve as the Registrar in the absence of the Director for Enrollment Services/Registrar.
-Administrative point of contact for all issues surrounding the admission of new students. Work with departments such as International Programs office, Transitional Learning, and Dual Credit to troubleshoot and create solutions. Oversee the admissions process, including batch admissions and manual admissions, term activation, enrollment cancellation, enrollment appointments.
-Work closely with Orca Central for Orientation and Express Enrollment events.
-Manage and support the interpretation of RCW's and college policies, as the Residency Officer, to make appropriate decisions and policy changes regarding residency.
-Support the creation and maintenance of ctcLink, term session tables, academic calendars and business processes.
-Work closely with the Outreach and K-12 Partnerships office when necessary to offer admission workshop support at events.
-Support the Director in maintaining accuracy of enrollment reporting and error report resolution in enrollment reporting systems such as National Student Clearinghouse, QARS and other related systems. Compile and submit statistical reports as needed.
-Liaison to Admissions and Registration Council, ARC.
With the Director, manage ctcLink security access to Service Indicators and Student Groups connected to Enrollment Services.
-Collaborate with Institutional Research to gather and analyze systematic enrollment data for enrollment support and trends to make timely and accurate reports to the campus community.
-Manage and support the interpretation of college policy and decisions regarding Hardship withdrawals and requests for refunds; ensure timely and accurate decisions and processing.
-Interpret and enforce the College's academic policies; assist with the development and implementation of college policies and procedures.
-Coordinate and oversee the student group process as it relates to enrollment and payment. Groups include Selective Entry programs, Athletics, PARED.
-Collaborate with College leadership to provide student centered communications.
-Troubleshoot student issues related to outreach, admissions, enrollment and graduation with students and College employees as appropriate.
Administration:
-Represent the Entry & Enrollment Services Office as a member of the expanded Student Services leadership team (SSLT).
-Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, and planning; develop and implement projects and programs to support the College's strategic work plan, service improvement processes, and student learning outcomes.
-Represent Enrollment Services operations in various college or community meetings, committees, and task forces; participate in campus committee governance.
-Participate in regional and national professional affiliations to ensure the College aligns with best practices in Enrollment Services.
-Serve as primary web editor for Enrollment Service web pages.
-Perform other duties as assigned or delegated by the Director for Enrollment Services/Registrar.
Supervision:
-Train, supervise, and evaluate full-time and part-time hourly Enrollment Services staff in accordance with state and federal laws, policies and procedures.
-Evaluate performance, motivate employees to achieve optimal performance, support internal procedures and controls, and provide opportunities for training and professional development.
-Lead and facilitate regular staff meetings and cross-training opportunities, share information as appropriate, promote the development of ideas for improved service and efficiency, as well as encourage and inspire teamwork. Implement professional development opportunities to ensure consistent application of policies and regulations.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
-Associate degree from an accredited institution.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
-Innovative and inclusive leader with two (2) or more years of increasingly responsible experience in administering and evaluating one or more of the following areas: admissions, registration, credential evaluation, career and academic advising, student success and retention.
-Demonstrated experience working in a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, gender/sexuality, and ethnic backgrounds and identities.
-Fluency (written and spoken) in a language other than English.
-Demonstrated experience in recruiting, supervising, and evaluating staff.
-Ability to develop, implement, analyze and use assessment of program and learning outcomes.
-Demonstrated ability and passion for using technology to solve problems. Ability to use a personal computer, Microsoft -Office products and database programs.
-Excellent verbal, listening, writing, problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
Salary:
-This is a 12-month, full-time Administrative/Exempt position. Exempt from Washington State civil service law with an annual salary based on a range of $64,757.00 - $69,757.00.

-Accrues 8 hours per month of sick leave and 14.67 hours per month vacation leave.
