Strategic Assessments Engineer
DescriptionKey Responsibilities include:
Analyze and present the impacts of regulatory and economic conditions on generation and transmission infrastructure.
Study emerging issues to assess risks and implications for MISO and its stakeholders.
Monitor energy industry trends and identify future operational needs.
Ensure long-term reliability and security of the transmission system.
Research and resolve complex energy market and infrastructure policy issues.
Examine interactions between the natural gas and electric networks.
Develop presentations to communicate findings clearly to stakeholders and decision-makers.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records.
Technical Skills we are looking for:
Prior industry experience preferred in any of the following: demonstrated experience with production cost analysis tools such as PLEXOS or PROMOD; understanding of Resource Adequacy.
Experience with Electric Reliability Organization (ERO), Regional Reliability Organization (RRO), or Public Service Commission (PSC) preferred.
Proficiency in system modeling for engineering analysis.
Strong understanding of NERC and FERC regulatory compliance.
Ability to analyze complex business scenarios and data to draw valid conclusions.
High attention to detail, with strong organizational skills.
