Underwriting Assistant - Insurance

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant to join our insurance team in Palisades Park, NJ. This role will require excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask.

Assistant Underwriter provides vital team functions:

Review submissions information required to issue new or renewal quotes

Review of and handling of inspection recommendations and discrepancies

Monitor various reports for consistency

Potential for policy issuance and endorsement processing, including audits

Data entry into multiple internet based systems

Provide accurate quoting and loss reporting upon request

Document and organize all Underwriting files, and update system daily

Interact with brokers and carriers with a focus on delivering applications and policy documents

Proactively problem solve to balance and manage client/broker expectations with internal service standards

Accurately write policies in accordance with contracted carrier policies and state mandated guidelines

Manage workflow in order to meet all internal and external underwriting deadlines

Work well and continually show respect for colleagues at all levels
