Title:Senior Off-Shore Telecommunications EngineerKBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.KBR is looking for a Senior Off-Shore Telecommunications Engineer to lead the definition, design, engineering, and construction administration of the telecommunications and security systems scope for an Off-Shore Engineering Project.Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Lead the early conceptual definition of the telecommunications, electronic security, Information Technology (IT), and cyber security scope for medium, large, and Mega refining and petrochemical projects.

Coordinate with Customers on Telecommunication systems strategy with presentations, documentation and provide regular progress updates based on schedule and necessary milestones.

Develop and lead the Telecommunications engineering program strategy through all project phases including design, construction, testing, and commissioning.

Develop and lead the Cybersecurity program strategy through all project phases.

Direct critical activities requiring knowledge and expertise concerning Telecommunications, IT, electronic security and cyber security.

Develop conceptual scopes and write specifications and requirements for telecommunications/IT/cyber security projects

Generate, review, and approve telecommunications/IT/cyber security packages of assigned projects

Apply advanced engineering techniques, calculations, and best practices.

Directs and lead the efforts of third-party design engineering, system integrators, and construction contractors.

Sound decision-making for engineering problems and methods that impact project cost and schedule.

Responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and budget.

Prepare accurate and complete designs with calculations as required to meet project requirements.

Conduct field investigations when needed; produce field reports with detailed sketches.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and assist engineers and/or designers to ensure a fully functional, operational, effective, and quality product.

Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, relevant standards, and Information Management Systems.

Apply industry best practices to all telecommunications/electronic security/IT/cybersecurity deliverables.

Provide technical guidance and expertise to the design team.

Provide employee performance feedback to discipline manager.

Architect telecom networks, systems and solutions at multiple hierarchical levels for complex networks for greenfield and brownfield offshore platforms.

Develop technical standards and guidance for client portfolio and applications.

Participate in multi-disciplinary risk assessments and technical audits.

Perform regular design reviews and develop test plans and procedures that leverage industry best practices.

Engineer multi-vendor solutions that are fault resilient with integrations that span vendor platforms

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

EDUCATION: 4-year STEM Bachelor’s degree

Minimum 10 years off-shore and marine work experience

TWIC (Transportation Worker Information Credentials) card holder or ability to obtain one.

COMPEX Hazardous Area Training certification

Global Industrial Cybersecurity Professional (GICSP) – GIAC Certification with previous Industrial Control System cybersecurity experience

Previous experience in Field Telecoms, industrial automation and control systems

Previous Marine/offshore telecommunications system engineering experience with working knowledge related to design, configuration, installation, and testing.

Capable of safely working with legacy telecommunications and network equipment

Ability to work effectively without direct supervision in an operational offshore production environment

Strong Windows OS experience. Other OS experience is a plus.

Exposure to working in potentially hazardous environments on offshore operational or exploration Oil or Gas installations with valid offshore working and medical certificates

Expert Knowledge in Marine and Offshore telecommunications work processes and systems.

The Senior Telecommunications Engineer must have experience and working knowledge related to the design, configuration, installation, and testing in all or most of the following systems: Video Surveillance Systems, Personnel Access Control Systems, Intrusion Detection Systems, Public Address/General Alarm systems (PA/GA), wired and wireless network systems, Telephony Systems, Radio Systems, Marine Cabling Systems, Microwave Systems, Satellite Systems, and Cyber Security implementation methods.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present, design, plan, and build relationship with customer.

Experience with Telecom systems detailed drawing production via a computer aided drawing package.

Experience developing technical specifications, system design, and component selection.

Experience leading initiatives and managing suppliers

Knowledge of Instrument calculation computer applications.

Experience working with other disciplines and understanding their interface requirements.

Experience with design and/or construction of plants desirable.

Knowledge of API, NFPA, NEC, IEC, ISA, IEEE, BICSI, ANSI/TIA, NERC standards, methods and practices.

Knowledge of International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) requirements for Telecommunications Systems.

Knowledge and Experience with virtualization technology

Test and commission the deployment and operation of servers, network devices, end devices and/or storage arrays.

Architect telecom spaces, networks and solutions at multiple hierarchical levels

Documentation of network configurations, traffic formats and associated theory of operations

Develop, Design, and commission all levels of network equipment and configuring related protocol layers including high-capacity transport (e.g., DWDM), multi-layered traffic (IP, Ethernet/VLAN, MPLS) and edge routing/switching.

Design and specify Network capture/recording, analysis and replay, including both LAN packets and broadband bitstreams
